VOLUNTEER
Please volunteer at our semiannual Volunteer Days or for our weekly Weed Warrior group
Please volunteer on Saturday, October 31, 9 am to noon (Rain date Sunday Nov. 1)
Two main activities:
Distribute wood chips around trees throughout the park. Woodchips suppress weeds, help retain moisture, and protect the trees from mowers.
Clear out invasive vines such as English Ivy.
To help us plan, please sign up at CFengage by following this link. (Signing up at CFengage is also the best way to get credit for community service hours.)
Please bring work gloves, a water bottle, & wear sturdy shoes.
Ample parking is available across Three Chopt on Hanover and Ripley Avenues.

Volunteer Days
FOBFNP Volunteer Days semiannually.
Volunteers undertake a variety of tasks such as hauling and spreading woodchips, invasive plant removal, and picking up trash.

Weed Warriors
In Florida, volunteer groups remove invasive Burmese pythons from the Everglades. At BFNP we remove invasive Asian wisteria. This vine was 29.5 feet long.
Mondays from 9-11am, this hearty team of dedicated volunteers meets at the park to work on invasive removal and habitat restoration along with discovering and sharing park treasures. Look for us in areas of the park that need timely attention.
